Artist Statement
My paintings are a process of personal
investigation of a soul, there is many stories to be felt
through the visual finish presentations. These pieces shape
their lines through my exposure with life, and commanding a
mystery in finding your way through my work, not just as an
image but a map of a soul.
Painting
There are patterns of
ideas in them when I started, but quickly they were
directed by my work and experience in abstract art, guided
with senses and integration of paint on the canvas with
different mediums, and finally sorting these puzzles and
discovering the final solution. I work with layers of thick
to thin acrylic colours which are washed or scrubbed with
water and different tools to create textures and mix of
colour, there are gestural and traces of action painting
with drippings and splattered paint all adding sense of
accumulation and sense of time which encompasses every
piece.
Photography
Technique
is called lightscribe photography, where a light source is
used as brush and camera is used as the canvas to capture
the image drawn by the artist. Result is powerful revelation
of light dancing with hughes of background and foreground,
telling a story of light that danced in ecstasy before being
vanished forever.
The
pieces connect with observer as many levels, there are human
elements inside each frame, as rigid lines convey speed and
bold atmosphere, and smooth subtle lines hold happy and
eccentric moments.
Sculptures
These pieces are formed with scrap metal and
substantial bases capturing a moment of a piece about to
burst or snap shot of a ball traveling towards you. These
works have both momentum and energy captured in them.
Each sculpture is subtle and formed with steel
pieces welded together to form the grand effect, each one is
painted or varnished after rusted with elements of nature.
